Lifestyle & Engagement

Not Your Normal Lifestyle Session

It's rare to have photos that capture your unique personality and that it what we want to achieve. I try to have a 50/50 balance between posed photos and those in-between, split-second moments!

There are so many moments we experience in life that can't be captured, but I've never regretted the photos that I've taken with my loved ones. You deserve beautiful photos with your loved ones that you can cherish and keep forever!

WHY SHOULD WE DO AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION?

To have a practice run before the wedding day and see what approach works best

.

To have beautiful photos for your wedding website

.

Have timeless photos that document this stage of your relationship

.

To have beautiful photos that aren't selfies or phone photos!

.

To gain confidence in front of my camera

.

To have your personalities captured by planning a shoot that represents you

Different Types Of Sessions

Special Spot Session

How special to do your engagement session in a space that is important to you.

We will seek out unique spots, beautiful light, and any important locations that share significance in your relationship (First date, First "I love you", anniversary spots, etc.)

Editorial Session

Want Vogue-y photos that give all the editorial feels? We'll do multiple outfit changes, strong architectural locations, and direction to guide you so you feel like the best version of yourself.

I'll guide you with location suggestions after you've shared your vision and ideas.

Adventure Session

Want an adventure and engagement session in one go? Let's do it. We can go for a hike, visit a little dorpie with breathtaking views or even go to a retro diner or restaurant you've been wanting to try. The options are endless!

For Adventure Sessions we need to take a few things in account. Location, logistics and availability and then we can bring your dreams to life.

How It Works

We Book The Date

We reserve Sundays and Weekdays for engagement sessions and bookings happen about two months in advance.

We Make Pure Magic

You and your fiancé have an amazing time in front of my lens, looking your best but feeling like yourselves.

Two Week Turnaround

You'll receive your full engagement gallery within two weeks.

Session Flow

We Meet & Set Expectations

We chat a bit about you, your relationship, love languages and how we incorporate them during your session. We go over the "Homework" I've sent to you, which options you chose and how we'll incorporate it.

We'll Start Slow

I start with movement and a few prompts to read your body language and how you react to the direction. Eg. extroverted and high-energy or introverted with slower and soft movements.

Based on these, I'll have an idea of how I want to approach your session further.

Ending With Intention

The last 15 minutes, we'll apply some of your homework, answer some deeper and meaningful questions about you, your wedding and anything important I should know. Then within 2 weeks you'll receive your complete gallery.

Frequently Asked Engagement Questions

What time of the day should we do our engagement session?

I always suggest starting about 2-3 hours before sunset. We want the best light with that beautiful glow. I also prefer to start earlier, so you get comfortable and by the time the light is perfect, you're professionals.

How long does it take to receive the edited full gallery afterwards?

You'll receive your online gallery of 60-80 high-resolution edited photos in a mix of color and black&white 10-14 days after your session.

What if it looks like rain or poor weather on the day of our session?

We'll reschedule your session to an available date. I keep a number of days open each week so we can easily move it to a nearby date. I'll keep my eye on the weather leading up to your session date and make the call anywhere from 12-72 hours in advance.

Should we get professional hair and makeup done?

Your engagement session is a perfect opportunity to do your hair and makeup trials before the wedding day. This way you can see how it looks in person and in photos.

How long in advance of our wedding should we do the session?

It depends on how far in advance you've booked me to be your wedding photographer. If you want to use the photos for Save-the-Dates and your website, I'd say 6 months to a year in advance. Others like to wait until closer to the date. If you're unsure, get in touch and I'll guide you through it.

We're not really comfortable in front of the camera...

90% of Enya Photography clients say this over email or just before the session and 100% of my clients have been proven wrong. You can expect proper direction and guidance, but no forced poses. I use prompts to switch your focus to something else and most couples are surprised by how much they felt like themselves during the session!

Some Client Love

These photos make me incredibly excited to know that you'll be capturing our wedding day too! Thank you for the best experience and making us feel so comfortable. We're so happy!
